Babble Brain

Yeah, someone found my blog! I am a 32 yr. mother of three beautiful children and proud wife of my wonderful husband~ Matthew. I am blessed beyond my comprehension! I hope you too will be~ His gift is free if you receive. You have nothing to lose and all to gain! Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace that you are saved, through your faith -not from yourselves, it is the gift of God. Not by works, so that no one can boast.

I'm still here :-) I read your post before and was trying to remember what we did for our son. One thing we did for our daughter one year was to have a backwards birthday party once. Ate on the floor under the table, walked backwards, dressed backwards, ate the cake first - stuff like that. Whatever you would normally do - we did opposite.
Another year for my daughter we did a carnival. At that time my mother in law had cancer and a bald head - she was such a good sport and let the kids paint her head!! That year we had a carnival cake, pie eating contest, pie throwing, foods you would find at a carnival, etc.
We have always done sports themes for our son. He was never really into anything else. Real low key! We also do a pinata at every party - the kids always like that. Just make sure no one gets hit with the bat when the kids are swinging - a lot of supervision is needed!
Well, that's not much, but just some ideas.
Good luck!

Sorry, Jess, I have all girls... no 8 year old boy experience here. I think they're easier to please than girls though, if that makes you feel any better. ;-)

I have a son, but he'll be 24 a week from Wednesday. I don't remember what we used to do. This getting older, coupled with the MS, really stinks sometimes.

Jess,
Even though Jarred is 8 I can't tell you anything exciting to do with out costing a ton. For his 8th birthday we kept it simple invited a few friends over, I went to Sofo's food market and got stuff so the boys could make their own pizza's and then they really entertained themselves, they played in the basement they played outside, and then we had cake. It was pretty easy on my part and all the boys left happy.
