The girls, me , Maddi and Kenzie were deadly ill with the flu in the middle of summer!! Now that is sucky!!!! Praying Matt and Braeden dont get it!!! So far so good!! Posting soon!

Are They Being Serious??? $5700.00 For Braces!!!!!

MacKenzie went for a consult today for some very minor problems. Her dentist thought she should see an Ortho, so we did. For some very minor problems we were quoted $5700.00 and told she needs braces. Her teeth to look at , look beautiful, they are very straight except one tooth is rotated 40% and her bottom teeth have spaces and she has a class 2 overbite. What a rip off!!! I had braces 2x so I know all about it. She's only 11 though that seems young to start treatment. Needless to say we will be shopping around- $5700.00- WOW!!! Oh- it was $3000.00 after insurance- but still!!!

Did I mention I really dislike Hospitals (especially Toledo) and Dr.'s!!!!!!!!

Had a bit of chest pain last night and tried to ignore it but upon rising this morning it did not want to go away! To make a very LONG story short- I called my Dr. and she of course said you need to go right to the Er. Well I waited cuz I didnt want to go, but after telling afew people about it they all talked me into going. I figured it was maybe anxiety and didnt want to go. well I went and over 4 HOURS later returned home!! Did I mention I really dislike Toledo Hospital!!

According to them they say I have Pleurisy- which is the swelling-inflammation of the tissues that line the lungs and chest wall and the layers rub together cause alot of pain when you breathe!! Supposedly it can be bacterial or viral and are treating me like its viral which means you go home and take motrin.

So I could have just stayed home like I wanted to in the first place!!!

Ultrasound Today

Well I had my ultrasound today which is obviously no big thing but when I arrived I was mistaken that it was a big deal because they sent me to NUCLEAR MEDICINE!!! I thought why on earth do I have to go to NUCLEAR MEDICINE, do they have some special ultrasound for the thyroid? WHY am I in NUKE?

So they call my name and look at my order and discover the girl at registration told me to go to the wrong spot- she thought I was having an Uptake and Scan- which is in Nuclear Med.

Thank God- I was a little nervous.

So the girl does my ultrasound and says," I'm going to NEED you to stay right here, I need the Radiologist to take a look at this!!" So I again begin to FREAK OUT!! I have had many ultrasounds and its always, "Ok your Dr. will have the results in a few days". NEVER has it been hang on I NEED the radio. to look at this!!! So I begin to think the worst-

Oh No, they found something and they arent going to let me leave, then I tell myself well maybe this is something new that have you wait, No, I tell myself again- start worrying it's bad news, No its ok. Back and forth, back and forth.

Then I think- Satan, you can leave now, I dont remember inviting you to my appointment, so just leave NOW!!!

A few more minutes pass and she comes back and says ok, your Dr. will have the results in @ 2 days. SO- it cant be that bad. My luck it will be normal which would be good but bad because then your back to square one- whats wrong.

Not that I want anything to be but yet you want something to be wrong so it can be fixed so your not labeled as crazy! But Im not crazy cuz my bloodwork says so.

I caught the last 5 mins. which was all I probably needed. Some had talent and some REALLY had talent.

Well easier said than done, I have to daily remind myself that worry is from satan and not from the Lord.

And when is it worry or educating yourself to be prepared for what is ahead??

I do not have the best of luck with Dr.'s . I have spent years educating and self diagnosing myself, to go back to the Dr. and say " don't you think maybe it could be this or this?" I thought that is why they get paid the big bucks but anymore it seems you have to have an idea of what might be wrong with you so you can help the Dr. with their job.

I think I may someday go back to the medical field because Dr.'s FRUSTRATE me and most people that I know!!!!

My Dr. calls me out of the blue and says you have to go for a thyroid ultrasound, your thyroid is running high and we cant get it regulated and dont know why. And then you need to go to an Endocrinologist.

So I investigate why you would have to have a thyroid ultrasound- infected thyroid, enlarged, cystic, cancerous, growth on it.

So I ask myself am I getting paranoid and thinking too much or am I educating myself so I know what they will be talking about. But once you look info up its hard not to think about it and if you go in ignorant well you leave not knowing what they are talking about!!

Then the endocrinoligst calls to make me an appt. in SEPTEMBER!!!!

My Dr. says you CANT wait till Sept. so they get me in with another Dr. and then tell me well we dont really like this Dr. but go and see what they say and we may have to send you for another opinion.

So Im really looking forward to going to aDr that my Dr is not thrilled with, and wasting tiime and money,but I need to see someone soon and there are only a handful of endorcinolgosit around.

So I keep telling myself dont worry but when your symptom list is growing its hard not to think the worst.

So I go for my ultrasound tommorrow and to the endorinolgist next wed. so hopefully I will know something then and not leave more frustrated.

I did something seriously wrong!!!

I was trying to add the counter and something went really WRONG!! So I changed my template- I think I like it. I am determined to figure this Blog thing out so I keep messing around but messing up!!

Fridays storm-

Fridays storm started @ 4:00. I dropped the kids off at guitar lessons, came back home to still try and plan our date, we rarely go out so we cherish our time and were looking forward to seeing each other and wanting to do something different so we wouldnt be dissappointed ( thanks a bunch, we loved all the date ideas). So as Im on the computer still planning, but plans had to start changing due to the weather, I look outside and see our 3 very expensive trees we just purchased and planted LEANING almost touching the ground- NO JOKE_ IM SERIOIS they were about 2ft from touching ground!! Then the power goes out and stays out so I call Matt (hes out running errands) He tells me he just got side swiped in his car, he cant talk now.

So we call mom tell her we are not going out, she says go ahead go just bring us the kids since you have no power. Well Maddi is very hard to watch unless at our house. She is a 20 mo. ADHD baby with emphasis on the H- HYPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So Matt is replanting the trees in t he pouring rain, then he calls our buddy who is storing our generator, of course he's not home!!! He tells us how we might be able to get into his garage after checking 100 keys. They never lock anything but started that day due to some breakins- of course, our luck!!! So Matt lifts the ridiouliously heavy generator by himself to find out it WONT start!!! To make an even longer story short we got it to run for @ 1/2 hour to drain our sump before we flooded, we had @ 4 inches till we overflowed- due to no power. And of course the power people know NOTHING!!!!

Ok we drain the sump , Matt changes his clothes for the 4th time that day and off we go on our date- no idea where to eat and its 8:00!!!!! We head to Rosies Italina Grille- Very cute place!!! We decide they are quite expensive and we were sitting in mosquito land outside!!! So embarrassing we get up and leave and head to Outback where we ALWAYS go but its always good!! I order a boring cheeseburger that disappoints me and we head home to still find our generate wont work after hours of trying, power people still dont know when it will be on and our sump is 2 inches form overflowing.

It is now 1230 we head back to our buddys to get his generator and at 100 the power comes on. We also had to hook up to our neighbors house like they do in the hood for power. All of our neighbors behind us in Village Meadows had power!!! Everyone in front did not!!

And meanwhile talking to mom to see if Maddi is ok- she is not she will NOT sleep!!! 1030 and she is still awake ruling over everyone!! Praise the Lord she did finally crash. After unplugging and claeaning everything up we ended our wonderful date by crashing at @ 230.

So all our planning and it didnt help. What was the Lord trying to tell us???

I think he wanted us to pray harder- the first time I prayed the generatoe worked the times following it did not. I think maybe we were suppose to enjoy the quite and lack of power, but instead we worked our butt off trying to get power and failing at it, we wasted our time and ruined our date.

It is easy to see why people dont believe in God- I found myself asking God why dont you want my husband and I to enjoy a very needed date together? Why wont you make this generate work? Why are you making my husband work so hard- he worked so hard to first plant these very heavy trees and had to replant them?? Why ? We have all this time, kids are at moms overnight . I know he doesnt give us more than we can handle but why does he push us to limit of exhaustion and hatred?? And why do thing like this always cost us a small fortune?? We have to fix the generator, buy a back up kit etc. etc.?

I know we are suppose to learn something here- did we? Im not sure?

Our date was ahorrible, horrible disaster- details will be coming!!!!

The Lord taught me a little lesson today-

Well, I was on my way to work when I glanced down at my gas gauge and to my surprise I had below a 1/4 tank of gas, so I recalled hey- I got gas last night and I remember I spent $50 on it cuz Kenzie commented"$50 MOM!!". So I was quick to point fingers and judge- I quickly assumed the temperance gang siffened (sp!!!) it out!! So I immediatley called home and woke Matt to go check his tank cuz he just filled up too!! Thats all I could think @ at work is I want revenge on these punk kids (They have done this numerous times). Well when I left work my gauge was a little higher. So Shame on me, shame on me!! But Praise the Lord it was my gauge and not siffened out!!

Pretty soon she'll be teaching me!!!

How am I doing Duckman?? At least 9 new posts- I guess I deserve it after harrassing all you bloggers.

Going on a date Fri. HELP!!!!!!!

Any ideas out there on a date night?? We must be getting old- we look so forward to time alone together and then it's very overrated- it goes so fast and we feel like we had no time.

We do the usual decide for @ hour where do you want to eat? I dont care where do you want to eat- blah, blah, blah.

Then we go to a movie and have no time to talk to each other or we run errands- shop, which horribly bores him!!

Then its over and we are sad cuz we feel like we barely had time together. We enjoy being together but away from home with no kids what do we do thats something different?????

Did anyone see this movie yet? We took the kids to see it and thought it was cute. Quite comical if you camp at all. It's about what our camping trips are like ,that is why we no longer own a camper- tho we do like to camp. Every time we camp we have a small disaster or it pores buckets of rain on us. We did have a very beautiful weekend this past weekend staying at a friends trailer on a small lake in Hillsdale, MI. Only problem was baby Maddi was not a happy camper- she is way to little to be taking places where so has to cooperate=- she was high maintence!!! We had a good time but will be awhile till we attempt it again with her being so small!!

Crocs- Water Clogs~ What do you think of them??

What do you think of these shoes?? They seem quite practical- foamy comfort if you buy a good brand -not hard plastic ones. You can wear them like slippers, or to the beach, they can get wet and are not slippery and dry quick. Everyone in my family bought some, even Maddi (hers are really cute on her). I wasnt sure about them so I did not join the family in their purchase. The kids loved them so much they wanted to know if they could wear them to bed! The boys bought black and the girls bought red.

Headed to the Zoo!!

Headed to the Toledo Zoo tommorrow after work, check back for photos. We are on a marathon of fun for the whole 2 weeks Matt is on shut down. We get him for a whole 2 weeks out of 7 months. Yes- Im having a pitty party for myself- SO WHAT!!!

Baseball Braeden!!

Here is Braeden's Post!! Mr. Baseball, he lives, dreams and thinks of baseball all day long!! I Once told him he may not have practice one night for forecast of rain and storms. And the boy who hates storms says," Mom, you still have to play baseball even if its raining, you just have to slide in the mud, cuz that's what real baseball players do!" Well excuse me!! For 6 years old he was pretty darn good! He did quite a bit of catching it was so cute to see him in his squat hand behind his back, all serious. He loved that dad helped coach too and that he was on the Detroit Tigers team!! Love ya little buddy!!
